Topic: Youth Inspiration and Entertainment via Stories and Music

Summary: Today's youth show is quite a mixture. We acknowledge the passing of long-time community member, Ray Leger, by playing a Los Tropicales song. Arielle shares an inspirational story about a 12-year old boy and the ethics of food. Curtis reads to us from a children's story book. And since our youth (as well as the rest of us) are becoming more sedentary as school is well underway, and winter will be here soon, we thought we'd play some tunes to get us moving. Also, Dennis is learning to "run the board," which basically means doing the radio engineering. We thought this would be a good "practice" show for Dennis.

Pat's Extra Notes:
At the beginning of the show, we pay tribute to Ray Leger, a community leader who recently passed away, by playing "La Bamba," performed by his son Steve Leger's band "Los Tropicales." Our condolences go out to the Leger family.

Dennis did a good job for his first time behind the steering wheel of the engineering board. Oh, and there's a wedding in the family, so we give a shout out to his brother, whose daughter is getting married today. Congratulations to all the family.

We also announce that our very own Arielle Hawney has been chosen as a NM honoree for the Amy Biehl Youth Spirit Award (http://www.nmvoices.org/abysa.html). Recognition is given annually to several young people for their community service and their efforts to help make the world a better place. Congratulations, Arielle!
