Larrañaga (11 year old birder), Brandon Larrañaga (almost 9 years old), Sonya Berg (Friends of the Las Vegas National Wildlife Refuge Board Member) Co-Hosts: Pat Leahan, Dennis Lopez, Arielle Hawney (via phone) Summary: We talk about the upcoming 13th Annual Backyard Bird Count. People are encouraged to participate. It's happening Feb. 12-15, 2010. It's fun and easy. Go to the website below to learn more. Also, folks should go to visit the LV Wildlife Refuge right now while the Sandhill Cranes are migrating. Snow Geese, Ross's Geese, Canada Geese, Bald Eagles and lots more are there right now. Brandon and A.J. do an excellent job of talking about birding, giving vivid descriptions of birds, and getting young people interested in birding. We play some bird calls to help our listeners learn how to identify various local birds. Please consider participating in the Great Backyard Bird Count. All you need is 15 minutes. Check it out!
